DISRUPTIVE PLANETS
discovering and studying new worlds to consolidate our understanding of planets and habitats.
James Hall
My main area of focus is understanding the processes controlling the fossilization of soft-bodied organisms and microbes. I am particularly interested in how these processes could have played out on early-Mars, performing preservation experiments which have implications for the upcoming Mars 2020 mission. I am also interested in how the properties of exoplanet atmospheres are constrained. I am currently working with Julien to understand how the dissipation and formation of clouds on hot Jupiters with eccentric orbits can affect the light curves measured.
